Welcome to The Boring Store! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website (www.theboringstore.lk) (the "Site") and the services, features, and products we offer. By accessing our Site and purchasing our products, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

While we're all about fun, these legal terms are important to ensure a smooth and fair experience for everyone.

1. General

1.1. Agreement: This document constitutes a legally binding agreement between you (the "Customer," "you," or "your") and The Boring Store (referred to as "we," "us," or "our").

1.3. Eligibility: By using this Site, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age or are accessing the Site under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

1.4 Use of Site: You agree not to misuse the Site or use it for unlawful purposes, including attempting to interfere with its operation or gain unauthorized access.


2. Products and Pricing

2.1. Product Information: We take pride in curating a top-class selection of the latest hobby-grade drones and toys. We strive to provide accurate descriptions, specifications, and images. However, we do not warrant that product descriptions or other content are completely accurate, reliable, or error-free. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and to change or update information at any time without prior notice, even after you have placed an order.

2.2. Pricing: All prices are listed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and are inclusive of applicable government taxes and delivery charges. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.

2.3. Price Match Guarantee: We are committed to offering the best prices. If you find an identical, in-stock product advertised at a lower price by a registered business in Sri Lanka, we will match it. To claim, you must provide verifiable proof of the competitor's price at the time of purchase. This guarantee does not apply to clearance sales, liquidation prices, or typographical errors.

2.4. Availability: All products are subject to availability. We may limit the quantity of products we supply, supply only part of an order, or divide up orders. We will inform you if we are unable to fulfill your order.


3. Placing an Order & Payment

3.1. Order Acceptance: Your receipt of an order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. We reserve the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept or decline your order for any reason. If we cancel your order after payment, you will receive a full refund.

3.2. Payment Methods: We offer the following payment methods:

    1. Online Payment Gateway: Secure payments via debit/credit card (Visa, Mastercard, etc.). Your card information is encrypted and processed by a secure third-party payment gateway.
    2. Direct Bank Transfer: You may deposit funds directly into our bank account. Order processing will commence only after the funds have been credited to our account. Proof of transfer may be required. In case the funds have not successfully reached the designated account, despite the receipt of transfer, we reserve the right to withhold the order, until the issue is cleared.
    3. Cash on Delivery (COD): COD is available for orders within specified locations in Sri Lanka. Payment must be made in full to the courier agent upon delivery. Please have the exact amount ready as our delivery partners may not carry change.

3.3. Installment Payments (Koko / Mintpay): We offer installment payment options through third-party providers like Koko and Mintpay. By choosing this option, you agree to their respective terms and conditions. The Boring Store is not a party to the agreement between you and the installment service provider.

3.4 Billing Information Accuracy: You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all purchases made at our store.


4. Shipping and Delivery

4.1. Delivery: We offer free, island-wide delivery for all orders. We aim to deliver within 2-3 business days. While we strive to meet this timeline, delivery times are estimates and may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Delivery may not be available to certain remote or restricted locations.

4.2. Risk of Loss: Ownership and responsibility for products pass to you once we deliver them to the shipping carrier. However, if your order does not arrive or is damaged in transit, please contact us — we will assist you in filing a claim or arranging a replacement where possible.

4.3. Failed Delivery: If a delivery attempt fails because you were not available or provided an incorrect address, our courier partner will typically make a second attempt. Any further attempts may incur an additional charge.

4.4 Force Majeure: We are not responsible for delays or failures in delivery caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including weather, strikes, or courier disruptions.


5. Returns, Replacements, and Warranty

5.1. On-Arrival Defects: We offer a one-to-one replacement for any product that is found to be defective upon arrival (DOA). You must notify us within 48 hours of receiving the product and provide evidence of the defect (e.g., photos, videos). Refunds will only be processed upon successful return and verification of the product's defect, with return arrangements made by us. We reserve the right to deny any refund claims if the evidence of the defect is deemed not plausible. Refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days after approval.

5.2. Free Returns Policy: If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return the product within 7 days of receipt for a full refund or store credit , provided the product is in its original, unused condition with all original packaging, tags, manuals, and accessories intact. Refunds will only be processed after we receive the product back and verify all components are intact and as new. We reserve the right to deny any refund claims if the product is not in the aforementioned condition. In such cases, the product would be returned to you. Refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days after approval.

5.3. Return Process: To initiate a return, please contact our customer service. Return shipping costs for change-of-mind returns may be borne by the customer.

5.4. Warranty: Products may be covered by a manufacturer's warranty. Warranty details, if applicable, will be specified on the product page. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, or unauthorized modifications.


6. Parts and Repair Services

6.1. Availability: We offer spare parts and repair services for a majority of products sold through our store. This service is designed to provide you with a sense of security and extend the life of your products.

6.2. Repair Assessment: To utilize our repair services, you must first submit the product for an assessment. We will provide a quote for the cost of repairs and parts. Work will only commence upon your approval of the quote. An advance payment may be required to order or reserve parts. Once parts are received, we will initiate the repair, provide proof of a working product, and arrange for return shipment. Full payment is due upon sending the working proof, and the drone will be shipped back once the outstanding amount is settled. Disclaimer: Repair times can vary depending on parts availability.

6.3. Service Warranty: All our repair work is covered by a 30-day service warranty on the specific repair performed. Once again, this warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, or unauthorized modifications.


7. Drone Registration Assistance Service

7.1. We may offer a value-added service to assist customers with the drone registration process required by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL).

7.2. This service is advisory. You are ultimately responsible for providing accurate information and complying with all laws and regulations. The Boring Store is not liable for any delays or rejections by the governing authorities. We do not guarantee approval or acceptance by the CAASL and shall not be liable for any rejection, delay, or penalty resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the customer.


8. Safety and Proper Use Disclaimer

Many of the products we sell, including drones and other electronic or mechanical toys, require responsible handling and operation.

By purchasing and using such products, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You will carefully read and follow all included instructions, safety warnings, and local laws or regulations (including Civil Aviation Authority guidelines for drone operation).

  • You are solely responsible for ensuring safe and lawful use of the products.

  • The Boring Store shall not be held liable for any damage to property, injury, or other harm resulting from misuse, improper assembly, modification, or operation contrary to the manufacturer’s instructions or applicable laws.

  • Certain products are not suitable for unsupervised use by children. Adult supervision is strongly recommended.

Always operate drones and electronic toys in open, safe environments away from people, power lines, roads, and restricted airspace.


9. Intellectual Property

All content included on this Site, such as text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of The Boring Store or its content suppliers and is protected by Sri Lankan and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, display, or transmit any content without our prior written permission.


10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Boring Store shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages that result from the use of, or the inability to use, the service or products, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. 

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. 

The Boring Store shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or claim arising from the misuse, improper handling, unauthorized modification, or unlawful operation of any product. The customer assumes full responsibility for the safe and lawful operation of all products purchased.


11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions and any separate agreements whereby we provide you services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.


12. Changes to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of these Terms and Conditions by posting updates and/or changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes.
